About ALLTech

ALLTech develops and promotes the use of technology that enables all individuals to lead full and independent lives. We provide leadership, advocacy, training, technical assistance, and research so that people can further their knowledge and skills in the areas of assistive technology, universal design, and Web accessibility. To enrich all communities, we work collaboratively with individuals, families, educators, service providers, employers, agencies, and institutions to promote access and meaningful participation.

ALLTech staff members identify technological solutions to many of the educational, daily living, communication, and workplace issues presented by disabilities. ALLTech serves individuals with a wide range of disabilities including persons who have cognitive, communication, motor, and vision difficulties. ALLTech is skilled in distance technologies and can provide some services remotely.

Background

Founded at the University of Southern Maine campus in the late 1980s, ALLTech has evolved through several state, regional, and federal initiatives into a nationally recognized center that provides training, consultation, resources, and technical assistance in the areas of assistive technology, specialized software, Web accessibility, and universal design in education. ALLTech professionals have access to an extensive collection of assistive technologies and software. Individual staff competencies include certified Assistive Technology Practitioners and credentialed teachers.

In 2009, ALLTech is "Going the distance, Changing lives" by joining Training Department.
